To drive a consistent approach across all EHS activities on the Refresco site.
Driving forward the EHS management systems by influencing the management team, whilst working with the operations team to ensure compliance.
Essential Functions:
Working alongside the Group Health, Safety and Environment Manager with the development of company management systems.
Due to the nature of the role some cross site HSE interaction will be requiredPlay and active part of yield/waste reduction on site with the production team.
Technical support, advice and guidance to managers on HS&E legal compliance and best practiceDriving the Site Management Team to effectively implement the Safety Management SystemCo-ordination of site EMS and Environmental Permit including:
Review environmental aspects and assist with development of control measuresEMS & Permit documentation, control, and recordsInternal Audit Schedule, undertaking audits and aligning on timely corrective actionsEnvironmental performance reporting for Environmental PermitUndertaking BAT reviews in conjunction with DepartmentsProviding support, assistance, and guidance to Departments on:
Risk assessment programsHS&E audit and inspection programsDevelopment of HS&E operating proceduresIncident investigationsManagement ofHS&E training programsEHS Audit schedulesHS&E non-conformances and closeoutPPEManagement of Waste management including zero to landfill ensuring that optimal revenue is obtained for all waste created:
Maintenance of Waste Stream MatrixDuty of Care records and auditsLiaison with waste management contractorsEquipment servicing and issuesMaintenance of HS&E KPI data including:
Accident statisticsEnvironmental Permit Annual ReturnsEnvironmental KPI'sLiaison with People Department on Occupational Health mattersDemonstration of behaviors to support the key nature of this critical role to the site.

RequirementsEducation and
Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management or related field (or equivalent experience) plus five (5) years of management experience applying environmental, safety, wellness and programs required.
Sustainability project/initiative implementation of EHS programs experience required.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) preferred.
Previous experience in the food and beverage manufacturing industry is a plus.
Required Skills and Competencies:
An effective understanding of Manufacturing technology and process and the HSE risks associated with an FMCG company.
Solid knowledge of HSE systemsAbility and commitment to drive change whilst working within teamsUnderstanding and awareness of ISO14001 and OSHSAS 18001 standards and the competence to coordinate effectively.
Ability to provide an education and training resource for all operators in key HSE tasksAbility to understand the principles and processes of effective communication/presentation and when/how to apply them in all aspects of the role.
Understands the principles and processes of effective communication and how to apply them, also to understand how to give feedback in a way that enhances confidence and commitment.
Understands the principles of HS and Environmental auditing and how to conduct an incident investigation.
Understand how to collect and validate sufficient information on the effectiveness of HSE systems to make recommendations on improvement.
NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety as a minimumFormal Environmental qualification e.

Climate:
This position requires the incumbent to have the ability to work in ambient hot and/or cold seasonal environments.
